Answer: What this typically comes down to is having one side of your body stronger than the other.
The simple fix:
Switch to using dumbbells for your key exercises.
Over time, your weak side will be forced to catch up. On exercises such as dumbbells curls, make sure you're starting with the weaker/lagging muscle group first.
